About

Safran Lecuivre

Cinematographer · Visual Storyteller

Hi, I am Safran Lecuivre, a cinematographer of French Guyanese and Belgian origins. At the age of 18, I was a photographer for the AFP and South China Morning Post (local most popular Anglo-Saxon newspaper in HK).
The year after I went on to study at an American film academy in Cebu, Philippines, and back to Hong Kong, I crafted my skills on a wide variety of projects in advertising, fiction, and documentaries; working with production houses as well as developing personal projects alongside talented directors.
Early in 2020, just before any sign of global pandemic, the urge to explore new professional horizons and to escape a worsening political situation in Hong Kong took me to Paris .
Since then, I have found myself shooting commercials for such clients as Nike, Durex, Vacheron Constantin, Christie’s etc.. as well as fiction, music videos, dance projects, fictional documentaries that have taken me all over Europe.
My biggest care and attention is oriented towards lighting and movement. It’s my passion for Kungfu and music that give me an urge to dance my films.
